On 11 September 2026, at 05:26, the Sun and the Moon meet at 18°25′ in Virgo, forming the New Moon of the month. Every New Moon is an exact conjunction of the two Lights: the Sun, which symbolises will, direction and conscious identity, meets the Moon, which is associated with needs, habits, instinct and our emotional response. For a few days, these two levels function as if they were seeking to find common ground.
This time, however, the meeting is taking place at the Virgin. And Virgo is not so much interested in grand promises as in exactly how they will be put into practice. It is a sign associated with organisation, work, daily routines, obligations, practicality, improvement, technical detail and looking after the body through habits that can be sustained in practice.
That’s why this New Moon isn’t so much about ’I want my life to change« as it is about «What can I change from tomorrow morning to change my life?»
It’s not enough just to want a better job. You need to organise your job search, send out your CV, learn a new skill or change the way you work. It’s not enough just to want more time. You need to work out where it’s slipping away. It’s not enough just to want a better daily routine. You need to change the schedule that creates it.
What does a Sun–Moon conjunction mean in astrological terms?
The conjunction of the Sun and the Moon marks the beginning of a new lunar cycle. We do not yet have a complete picture of where this new beginning will lead, just as, at the New Moon, we cannot yet see the illuminated side of the Moon from Earth.
Symbolically, then, this is the moment of sowing.
Any intention, decision, new acquaintance, project or change that begins now will take time to take shape. Virgo adds a very specific condition: this seed requires the right process. Success will depend not only on inspiration, but on consistency, precision and our ability to correct whatever isn’t working.
