Its retrograde motion also adds an element of re-evaluation: something that had already begun may now require correction, re-planning or greater commitment.

The triangle between them can be interpreted as an opportunity subject to conditions of stability. It isn’t necessarily a sudden gift that falls from the sky. It’s more the moment when you realise that something you’ve built can actually come to fruition.

A proposal can take on greater significance. A creative project can take shape. A personal decision can begin to bear fruit. A new acquaintance can prove to have potential. A career opportunity may open up to broader horizons.

Opposite it, across the square, is Saturn in Aries. And here, too, the classic image of it appears «I want to move, but something is stopping me».

There may be a delay, a refusal, a practical obstacle, an additional responsibility, or pressure from a person or a situation that prevents us from moving at the pace we would like.

That does not necessarily mean failure.

Often, the Mars–Saturn square forces us to consider whether we are using the right strategy. The problem may not be the goal. It may be the way in which we try to reach him.
