In mythology, moonstone was believed to have been formed from solidified moonbeams. In ancient Rome, it was associated with the goddess of the Moon and was worn as an amulet for protection, fertility and to enhance intuition.

There are also reports that even gladiators wore it before battles, believing that it helped them to remain calm, focused and clear-headed rather than being carried away by anger.

Energy equivalence

In crystal therapy, moonstone is associated with the Moon, the element of water and, symbolically, with the energy of the zodiac signs Cancer and Pisces.
