This is the angel they call upon when they want to break a cycle that is holding them back.

There are times in our lives when we know full well what we need to leave behind — and yet something inside us insists on returning to the same place.

It may be a relationship that has run its course. An environment that wears us down. A fear that resurfaces every time we try to take the next step. Or even a pattern that changes faces and circumstances, but always ends up with the same result.

In the Kabbalistic angelic tradition, the Reyiel is linked precisely to this concept: the liberation from anything that restricts, oppresses or keeps a person trapped in a cycle that no longer serves them.

Who is Reyiel?;

Reyiel is referred to as the 29th guardian angel in the Kabbalistic hierarchy and is traditionally associated with the period 13 to 17 August.

His name is translated as «the God who hastens to save» or «the God who sets free».

The symbolic nature of this action is linked to:

  • freedom from oppressive influences,
  • the search for truth,
  • protection against hostile or toxic influences,
  • a return to personal strength,
  • supreme wisdom and purity of intention.

The element attributed to him is the Fire, whilst among its traditional equivalents we find the Zeus and the Sun, soft gold and violet, as well as ruby.

All of this, symbolically, speaks to something very specific: to create space within yourself once again so that you can move forward.

What does «I am setting myself free» really mean?;

The difficult thing is that often it is not just what lies outside us that holds us back.

The person may have gone, but the attachment may still remain.

A situation may have come to an end, but we may continue to relive it in our thoughts.

We may have realised what is causing us pain, but our bodies and emotions may still react as if we were still there.

That is why breaking free is not always a dramatic decision along the lines of ’I’m leaving, and that’s that«.

Sometimes it’s the moment when you stop investing your energy in the same problem.

The moment you realise that you don’t have to win a battle to move forward.

That moment when you realise that something might have been important to you, yet you don’t have to carry it with you forever.

When might the symbolism of Reyiel resonate with you most?;

Not just if you were born between 13 and 17 August.

Its symbolism can serve as a catalyst for introspection when you feel that:

something or someone still has far more influence over you than you would like,

you keep finding yourself in the same situation,

You want to set a limit but are finding it difficult,

do you feel that you have lost your clarity of thought when it comes to an important decision,

or you’re going through a phase where you need to make room for the next chapter of your life.

At times like these, it might be worth asking yourself:

What is it that I am trying to leave behind — and what is it inside me that keeps holding on to it?;

And where can Reiki help?;

During periods of intense emotional or energetic stress, many people choose to Reiki as a complementary practice for relaxation, inner calm and reconnecting with themselves.

You don’t need to know exactly what you want to change just yet.

Sometimes the first step is simply to create a little more space within yourself, to unwind and see more clearly what you really need.

And perhaps this is, after all, the most fundamental message behind Reyiel’s symbolism:

You don’t have to keep fighting forever against the very thing you want to free yourself from.

Sometimes you need to stop pouring all your energy into him first.
